Abstract

Dictionaries serve as one of the essential tools in foreign language learning, functioning not only as instructional materials but also as a means to develop learners’ language competence. This study aims to analyze syntactic errors found in the Sifr adh-Dhaad dictionary, compiled by students of STIT Hidayatunnajah Bekasi. Employing a qualitative descriptive method with a library research approach, the study draws upon Arabic syntactic theory as its analytical framework. Data were collected through document analysis and examined using the interactive model developed by Miles and Huberman. The findings reveal 27 syntactic errors in the Sifr adh-Dhaad dictionary, consisting of 12 errors in idhaafah constructions, 6 in maf‘ul bih, and 3 errors each in na‘at, munāda, and jazm structures. These results highlight the significance of error analysis as a strategic step in enhancing the quality of Arabic language instruction.
